Presentation

Logo ECISECIS+ is a research group founded in 1995 at the University of Granada, Spain, focusing on interpreting and translation studies. In the meantime, researchers from other national and international universities have also joined the group (Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibersitatea, Universidad de las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Universität Heidelberg y Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia). Its activity has materialized in a number of research and teaching innovation projects. The research focus lies always on quality examined quality from two perspectives: the process and the product of an interpretation or translation. On one hand, it acknowledges the changing nature of the evaluation of an interpreter's/translator‘s rendition carried out by different stakeholders. More specifically, it focuses on nonverbal characteristics and situational factors. On the other hand, it aims to identify indicators in an interpreter's/translator‘s rendition that may help to describe and optimise the interpreting process.
The research by members of ECIS+ is carried out both within the framework of the group and in external research projects.
